Betsy Johnson said: “Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves and, of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys they’d just walk around naked at all times.”

I may agree with Ms Johnson. But, with the LDW/Enchantrix Sissy Prom happening next weekend, finding the perfect dress should be #1 on your list, regardless of who you are dressing for. This is the one event that isn’t clothing optional! Learning how to shop for formalwear is an important part of exploring your sissy femininity.

Perfect Planning Produces Perfect Results

It’s that time of year when it seems that every time you turn around, there’s another party, event, or wedding you are asked to attend. For most events, the savvy lady, sissy, or crossdresser can pop into her closet and find something beautiful to wear. A few changes of accessories, and last year’s dress will do just fine. Then there are those invitations that are extraordinary, that only a new frock will do. The Sissy Prom is one such event.

When The Party is Black Tie

To find the perfect dress for any special occasion, there are some details you should consider and plan for before you step foot into the mall. I don’t know about you gurls, but I get pretty excited when the invitation says “Formal Attire,” because I adore trying on gowns, just like any other gal.

Shopping without taking the time to look your best is wasted time for me. Even the finest couture will look like a rag in bright florescent lights, if you don’t plan ahead.

Before You Head Out to Shop for a Sissy Prom Dress

Wearing a good foundation and stockings will give you a truer picture of how you will look in a particular piece of clothing.

Make sure you have your sissy makeup bag–lipstick and tissues in your purse means you are a considerate shopper. You want to make sure that your painted lips won’t sully what you try on. Shoes are another important choice for me. Comfortable flats for walking the departments, and sissy heels in a bag to be sure of the length, before I plunk my money down.
