First: You Need a Costume
The first thing you will need of course is a great costume. Stockings are another non negotiable item and remember we’re talking about burlesque dancing; this is not the same as stripping. Clothing is vitally important. A feather boa would be great or a Chinese type fan if you have one. Also, long beads which, since luck would have it, are sold in the bushels this time of year due to Mardi Gras. So, go grab them up! Gloves would be a good thing to have on hand also. Don’t forget your heels, but make them chunky heeled if you have a problem with stability in spike heels. If not, bring on the stilettos. Naturally you should wear sexy panties but not anything binding. Thongs are great for this as well as a nice full back bikini panty.

Once you have your ultimate costume, check out a burlesque dancing DVD at your local library or find one on YouTube. There are videos for pole dancing lessons and burlesque, as well as just sensual dancing. Almost all of them are free. If you’re really brave you can always take a class, but you’ll have to leave the costume at home of course.
