One of the things that I do for myself that makes me feel the most girlie is painting my nails. I love it! Personally, I love gel nails. These are perfect and long wearing, just the thing for a committed sissy!
Gel Nails for Sissies: How Do They Work?
The gel is incorporated with the color in a special kind of nail polish. Several coats are applied and in between each coat, the nails are held under a special light that sets the gel. I prefer gel nails to acrylics, because there is no drying process and they last longer.
But what if you girlies don’t want to have to make an appointment with someone to do your nails?
Too bad!
Gel Nails at Home
Just kidding… Sephora sells a Home Gel Nails Kit for you adventurous sissies who aren’t quite brave enough to head to the salon. But remember, they last a long time, so if you’re still practicing, get the regular polish and follow my instructions.
First, make sure to get a base coat. This will fill in any ridges you may have in your nails as well as help the color stay on longer. Then choose your color. If there’s anything I can tell you that will help you, it’s this: more expensive doesn’t not always equal better in the case of nail polish! Believe me, I have tried some insanely expensive nail color and found that the $3-$5 Sally Hansen polish works just as well and can be found at Wal Mart, Target or even Amazon for you girlies who want to keep your nail painting party a secret. When you choose a color, remember, this is what you want to look at so if you want blood red nails, go for it! Finally make sure to get a clear topcoat to set the color and help prevent chipping.
A Few Other Things to Buy
A few other things to buy are: cotton balls and nail polish remover. You can get pure acetone to take the polish off rather than regular remover. It works faster and you don’t have to use as much or scrub so hard to get the paint off when you’re ready to change the color, but acetone is some nasty stuff, so be careful not to get in on your furniture, food, or skin.
Nail painting is a fun way to feel girlie. If you’re going out dressed as a sissy, having unpainted, jagged, manly nails is a huge no-no. With a little practice, it can be done fast and easily.
