Tired of wearing puffers, faux fur and wool wraps? A rain-ready take on the classic trench might be exactly what you need! The ones that debuted for Spring 2020 are not your average trench. I think you’re going to love the new artful details. Some have leather paneling, others are pleated, still others have detachable skirts and my favorite are the pretty pink checked ones.
Layers
This is a tried and true way to move into spring and get through those days when it’s cold one minute and warm another. It’s easy to pair a long soft cardigan with a tee shirt and flowing midi skirt. This is a cute look for your Sissy wardrobe that can be worn with ankle boots, mules and even sneakers.
Chunky Cable Knits in Pastel Hues
Nothing feels more springy than pale Easter colors but you can also stay warm when it’s chilly if it’s a soft pastel chunky sweater. These are great to wear over jeans, leggings and with midi dresses and skirts. The pull overs are being worn tucked in the front and billowing out or as a over-sized cardigan worn over a cute tee shirt. I’m sure you can guess where I’m going next.
Midis
One of the most versatile and flattering lengths, this style works for dates, formal occasions and also casual every day looks. You can where them everywhere and they’re evergreen. A midi never looks out of place in Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. There are plenty of great pleated options too this season.
Bags
Lighter shades of neutral or pastels are the way to go. Just remember to pick simple shapes which will give you more versatility.
Top Transitional Makeup Trends
Glowing skin and classic red lipstick are my top picks for Winter into Spring, but if you want to be adventurous then try the white nail polish, colorful eyeliners and pops of blue shadow seen on the runways.
Smokey Eye Trends
The Smokey Eye is being replaced by the Glittery Smokey Eye, which is a very easy and fun look to attain. All you need to do is smooth on a little primer on your eyelid to make sure your shadow doesn’t slide around and then dab shimmery silver eyeshadow on top. That’s it!
But if you’re interested in a more subdued look the Matte Smokey Eye is a classic. Just line the top and bottom of your eye with dark eyeliner and smudge it so it’s not perfect looking. Then take a matte shadow in the same color family as the eyeliner but slightly lighter. Blend lightly into and away from the liner. Then using a lighter neutral like a matte Taupe, blend from the second color. Finish with black mascara on top and bottom lashes
